No accounts

In the beta there is no sign-up, no log-in and no payments. We do not ask for your name or your child’s, or your email. The child is never asked their age or language: a grown-up chooses them.

What stays on this device

The child’s progress (what they played, their stars and stickers) and the settings the grown-up chooses are kept only in this device’s browser. A record of their answers is kept there too, to fit the games to their level; it never leaves the device. The child is known by a random code, never by their name.

We use our own preference cookies (for example, the language) and, only on the grown-ups’ pages and only if you accept them in the notice, Google Analytics’ measurement cookies. No advertising cookies.

So the valley works without internet, the browser also keeps a copy of its drawings, sounds and code. It holds nothing about the child.

What reaches our server

When the child plays, the browser downloads the pages, code, drawings, voice and sounds from our site; those downloads carry nothing about the child. If a page fails, or when a round starts and ends in the valley, the browser may send a technical notice: our server answers and discards it without keeping it. We keep no data about the child or their use in any database.

From the child’s area only these requests are made, all to our own site and none to a third party. This list is checked automatically against the code: if the valley asked for something not listed here, the test fails.

Measurement, only on the grown-ups’ pages

On the grown-ups’ pages (the home page, the game pages, the guides, the printables and these legal texts) we use two measurement tools. Never in the child’s area: not in the valley, not in the games, not inside a game opened on a page.

Google Analytics measures which pages are visited, the site you came from, the type of device, the approximate country and a few clicks from a closed list (for example, pressing “Play”). It uses cookies Google keeps in your browser (_ga and _ga_…). It is off by default: nothing from Google loads until you accept measurement cookies in the notice. No advertising, no Google Signals and no ad personalisation.

To change your choice, use the “Cookies” link at the foot of every grown-ups’ page. If you choose “No, thanks”, we stop measuring and delete Google Analytics’ cookies from this browser. Google processes that data as the provider of Google Analytics.

Vercel Web Analytics counts visits (the page, the site you came from, the approximate country and the type of device) without cookies and without identifying anyone.

Who helps us

Vercel hosts the website and counts visits to the grown-ups’ pages without cookies; Google measures with Google Analytics only if you accept it. Like any server, Vercel keeps technical logs of each request for a limited time (for example, the IP address and the page asked for) to work and to protect itself from abuse; they carry no data about the child and we do not use them. We do not sell data and there are no ads.

Children

We do not collect children’s personal data: no name, date of birth, photos, voice, location or advertising identifiers. In the child’s area there are no ads, no chat, no purchases and no measurement of any kind.

How to delete the data on this device

In Chrome (Android): the icon left of the address → Site settings → Clear & reset.

In Safari (iPhone and iPad): Settings → Apps → Safari → Advanced → Website Data → find the site → Delete.

On our server there is nothing of yours to delete: we keep no data about the child or their use. Google Analytics’ cookies are deleted by choosing “No, thanks” from the “Cookies” link. Safari may delete on its own the data of a site not used for a few days.

Changes

When there are accounts, this policy will change before they exist, and we will say so on the website.
